Here is a fly i use a lot, tied on a tube like this step by step. and also on single and double hooks, as well as trebles hooks and snake flies. and have to say the pattern catches a lot of fish for me.
In the photo above, i have pushed tube on to the needle i use for tying tube flies. i have cut the tube to 11/2" inch long,
Now i have caught in the thread, i am using 70 denier Danville thread red. and after catching in the red holographic tinsel for the body, i run the thread to the head of the tube.
Now when i have the tinsel to the head of the fly, i tie it off and trim off the unwanted tinsel.
Now here i coat the tinsel with Deercreek UV resin, and set it with uv torch it sets in 2/3 seconds. with out the need to rib it with oval tinsel to keep it in place, after catching a few fish on it, the uv coating is far better.
Now i tie in the first wing, here i have used black bear hair.
Now i tie in the throat, i use marble fox dyed red.
Now i add some flash, here i have used fine holographic tinsel red.
And above i have folded back the forward part of flash, and tied it in.
Now i tie in the top wing, of peacock sword feather.
Now its time for the cheeks, i have used Jungle cock.
Above i have cleaned up the head and trimmed the thread.
Now i have a coat if thinned nail varnish, on head.
And above, the finished tube fly. with lining tube a coat of Deercreek UV resin plus hook.
And above in the two photos, a range of colours i tie and use myself.
Above, you can see what i make my tube flies out of. it tubing you get from a modelling shop for making steam engines, you can get it in brass/ copper and aluminium. and easy to cut with a safety razor blade. out side dia is 33/2" making a nice slim tube body,

The Alrounder, Sewin (sea trout) salmon fly.
Hi This is a fly that i use a lot, its the alrounder. it has all the materials and colours, that make a first class sewin fly. and also a good salmon fly, i am tying the fly on a Alec Jackson size 3 steelhead/ salmon hook.
Catch in the thread, i am using Danville black 70 denier. catch in at the end of the loop, and run down to the point of hook.
Now i tie in the tail, i am using Golden Pheasant crest feather.
Now tie in the rib, silver oval tinsel.
Now i wax the thread up,
Here i have dub the thread, using black seals fur. and wound dubbing down to eye of hook,
Now i wind on five turns of the oval tinsel, i have used medium size.
Now tie in the hackle, i have used a dyed black saddle hackle.
Above, i have wound on the hackle.
Here above, i have trimmed off unwanted hackle.
Now i have tied in, red dyed Arctic fox fur for under wing.
Now tie in middle wing, black dyed Arctic fox. if you want you can tie in some flash, between the red and black but i don't see the need for it.
Now i tie in the wing topping, with peacock sword feather.
And above, the finished fly with jungle cock cheeks.
And above, three finished flies. this is a great combo of materials and colours, and as i said a fly that i have so much confidence in. and a fly that always catches, and i tie this pattern also on tubes / waddington and snake flies. give it a go sure you will be happy with the results it will give you,.

Scandi style tube fly step by step.
The other week, i was sent some of the tube make products by the Pro Sportsfisher Co, a company that is bring out some great products for fly tying. above you can see some of the items they sent me, so will show you my take on a Scandi type style tube fly.
Above i push the tube on the needle, of my tube tying vise.
Now catch in the thread, here i am using Danville 70 denier white thread. and tie in the medium silver oval tinsel for tag.
Above, i have wound on the tinsel. and tie off the thread.
Now i tie in the tail, for this i am using pink marble fox Guard hairs.
Now trim off the unwanted hair,
Now i use some pink gliss and glint dubbing.
Now i use more gliss and glit dubbing, color silver doctor blue.
Above, i have tied in the grizzly saddle hackle.
Above i have wound back the grizzly hackle, and wound back up the tube. the oval tinsel to lock in the hackle,
Above i have trimmed off the unwanted materials.
Now i have pushed on a counter weight, which will also act like a pillow to hold up the next hackle.
Next, i use a dubbing brush, to pull out some of the dubbing. so that it shows though the hackle,
Now tie in a pink saddle hackle,
Above i have cleaned up the hackle,
Next, tie in the first under wing, i have used pink marble fox.
Now tie in some pink krystal flash.
Now tie in the forward part of flash,
Now tie in the middle wing, i have used silver doctor blue marble fox.
Again i tie in flash, this time silver doctor blue flash.
Again pull back over the top, the flash and tie off.
Now i catch in the front hackle, silver doctor blue.
Above, i have wound on hackle, and cleaned up tie.
Now i tie in the top wing, this time Purple marble fox.
Now i tie in there jungle cock, have to say. these are very good made of a soft plastic, and they do a number of colors and sizes.
Now i push on there vented disc, these in water when worked in the river. work the material very well and leave a stream of small bubbles in the water, look very alive for sure.
And above the finished tube, i have trimmed the tube rear to the size i wanted. for hook and trimmed the front of tube. and melted the tube so that it burrs up to hold disc,
Hope you like the fly, and the step by step. of this style of tube fly, it is about 11/2" long i use these in high water conditions, better than spinning for sure. and the Wilkinson colors catch a lot of fish,
